A California man has been arrested in Peachtree City in conjunction with a reported robbery scam on Monday. Christian F. Betts-Kopp, 18, was apprehended following a public tip reported on Tuesday night. He is in custody charged with robbery by sudden snatching, which is a felony.

The city’s Criminal Investigation Division determined that Betts-Kopp was also charged in Illinois for allegedly beating another scam victim while pretending to sell magazines.

Police are still looking for a second “person of interest” involved in the Peachtree City incident, and are reminding residents to report solicitors who act aggressively or do not have a permit to solicit.
