The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Oct. 1 regular meeting to approve a resolution authorizing the purchase of a handicap-accessible playground to be located at the Locust Grove Recreation Center.

The equipment will be purchased and installed from Miracle Recreation, according to a county staff report. The total cost for the equipment and installation is $139,861.62 and county officials have indicated that the funds are available in the county’s District 1 impact fee account.

The Locust Grove Recreation Center is located at 10 Cleveland Street, just west of Hwy. 42 at the northern end of Locust Grove’s main downtown district.
