Two Cobb County residents will soon open their own franchise of a smoothie chain that got its start in Atlanta.
Adnan Virani and his wife, Shaheen, will own and operate Planet Smoothie at the Piedmont Shopping Center at 1050 East Piedmont Road Building 200 in Marietta.
Adnan Virani told the AJC that he and his wife, who live in Marietta with their two children, decided to become franchisees because they not only love smoothies, but also believe the company’s refreshing drinks offers something for everyone.
This Planet Smoothie, which is located in the East Cobb community, will also have a drive-thru option for those who are pressed for time.
According to its website, Planet Smoothie opened its first store in Atlanta in 1995 and now have about 100 stores around the country.
Virani added an opening date is tentatively scheduled for the first week in May. The owners are also accepting job applications for all positions. Anyone interested in working at the local franchise can email planetsmoothieeastcobb@gmail.com.
