Mixed-use development Pinewood Forest is injecting a little bit of Europe in the style of its latest homes.

The 235-acre Fayetteville residential and commercial destination plans to build five new micro-homes in the Provençal-style, leaders have announced. The 535-square-foot houses will cost around $250,000 and will include a  private master bedroom, full-sized bathroom, loft, elevated ceilings, secluded patio and smart home technology.

The homes will share a private courtyard in a gated village.

"By constructing the homes in a village layout, we are able to promote a sense of community between the residents," said Brett Baker, director of residential construction at Pinewood Forest, who will oversee the project.

Tiny homes are sprouting up all over metro Atlanta as consumers seek more options for housing that fit their lifestyles, including those who focus on minimizing their footprint.

Pinewood has built several tiny homes as part of the overall development, which includes apartments, townhomes and houses costing upward of $1 million.

“Our micro homes are a beautiful example of tiny living,” Rob Parker, president of Pinewood Forest, said in a statement. “The craftsmanship of these houses proves that minimalism doesn’t have to preclude quality.”
