The pedestrian who was injured when she was struck by a car in Gwinnett County last month has died, police said Wednesday.

Georgette Stovall, 51, of Snellville, died Tuesday from her injuries, spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said.

Stovall was walking her dog on the sidewalk on Bethany Church Road when she was hit by a car driven by Tiffany Hayes, 31, of Snellville, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. Hayes was driving westbound on the other side of the road just before the accident.

Stovall was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville after the accident. Her dog, which was missing for a while, has been found.

Police have said Hayes’ actions do not appear intentional. Her car, a 2009 Honda CRV, was taken to police headquarters for an inspection.

No charges have been filed.
