Peachtree Corners recently approved the acquisition of six Button Art sculptures. Button Art, Inc. is a nonprofit organization created to further an appreciation of art in the county. The Button Art project was inspired by Button Gwinnett, the county’s namesake, and established in honor of Gwinnett’s 200th anniversary.
The six sculptures purchased by the city will be among 200 placed throughout Gwinnett.
“We are pleased to be part of the effort to display these unique art pieces and look forward to the installation of the Button Art,” said Mayor Mike Mason.
The first work will be unveiled on April 21 at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville. The Peachtree Corners sculptures will be installed later this spring.
The first Peachtree Corners location to display a Button Gwinnett art piece will be at one of the entrances to the “Corners Connector,” the city’s multi-use trail system.
