The Peachtree Corners City Council will have a second read and public hearing Aug. 16 to consider amending the sign ordinance to prohibit signs on bus benches, bus shelters, and other street furnishings located in the right-of-way. This would include signs on utility poles, trashcans, and bike racks, except “non-commercial, publicly owned, authorized or maintained signs which serve an official public purpose”.

Signs exempt from this new ordinance include signage on courtesy benches, trash receptacles, newspaper boxes, automated teller kiosks and phone booths located on private property and not exceeding eight square feet of sign area and not located within the required front yard setback for the zoning district.
