Peachtree City has temporarily lifted its moratorium on new multifamily housing to allow a developer to submit plans for 24 condominiums on the shore of Lake McIntosh.

The City Council voted 4-0-1 (with Kevin Madden absent) on May 3 to give Chadwick Homes six months to proceed with a rezoning request for 5.1 acres on the peninsula adjoining the Falcon Field airport and the Planterra Ridge golf course. The property is currently zoned as general industrial, but Chadwick representative Jerry Peterson said “amenity condos” at the site would align with real estate market demand.

The council’s action affects only this property; council members would also have to approve rezoning and then the actual development plans.
