Now that significant progress has been made on construction of the new spillway at Lake Peachtree in Peachtree City, the lake level will be raised by two feet. The initial drawdown of eight feet of water was done in order for a temporary coffer dam to be built near the old dam.
Project manager Dan Davis told the City Council on Nov. 16 that good weather has allowed the crews to stay on schedule as new concrete panels are being installed. The lake will remain at six feet below normal for several months before being raised another two feet closer to the end of the project.
