Peachtree City is adding $295,000 to its 2018 budget to expand the entertainment offerings at its Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater.

The City Council approved the funds on Nov. 16 to extend the facility’s operating season before and after its main summer concert series. City Manager Jon Rorie said making better use of the spring and fall “fringe” seasons would maximize the use of the facility and increase the number and/or types of acts the city can book. The amphitheater used to have more than double the current number of shows before the recession forced cutbacks in operations.
