Over the objections of nearby residents, the City Council of Peachtree City on Thursday voted 4-1 to approve rezoning to allow up to 80 upscale condominiums at Lexington Circle.

Local developer Dar Thompson agreed to a revised plan to build a four-story residential/retail complex on 3.5 acres, down from an original 100 units on 4.8 acres. Adjacent property owners objected to the building’s height and density, but a majority of council members agreed that commercial development on the site would be more problematic.
