A part of Terrell Mill between Bentley Road and I-75 will be closed 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
Cobb County crews will be digging a large trench across Terrell Mill.
Flag men will guide drivers through detours around the site and signs will be posted to alert drivers of the closure and official detour routes.
On Monday, crews began work on The Exchange between Water Place and the building at 1775 The Exchange, setting up traffic controls and bringing in materials and equipment.
Two lanes are closed, leaving one lane in each direction for traffic.
Rainy weather has slowed progress on restoring the entire stretch of Terrell Mill from Delk Road to Haverford Lane, but it still is on schedule to reopen this week.
