The management of Allatoona Lake in Cherokee and Bartow counties has posted two job openings for Natural Resources Specialist/Park Ranger, with a deadline of Friday, Jan. 3, to apply.

The positions are open to those who have completed a bachelor's or higher degree within the last two years in the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource/recreation management or related disciplines, according to a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announcement.

Duties including patrolling the Allatoona Lake area; giving information to visitors; monitoring beaches, boat ramps and campgrounds; assisting senior rangers with visitor protection and assistance; educating the public about the rules, and enforcing them; conducting interpretive programs, and managing recreation and natural resource programs.

Starting annual salary is $35,701, with a potential of $54,095 after two years.
