The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced overnight lane closures on I-285 in the Perimeter area of North Fulton and DeKalb counties for drain cleaning, videos and geotechnical investigations. The activities are preliminaries to the reconstruction of the I-285/Ga. 400 interchange.
Weather permitting, the closures are scheduled for 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday. Two westbound lanes of I-285 will be closed from Peachtree Dunwoody Road to the Glenridge Connector; and one right lane and shoulder will be closed on the on-ramp from Ashford Dunwoody Road to I-285 eastbound.
Also, one right lane and shoulder will be closed on I-285 eastbound from Riverside Drive to Chamblee Dunwoody Road. No more than two miles will be closed at any time, GDOT says.
In related work, crews will alternately close one northbound and one southbound lane of Lake Forrest Drive beneath I-285 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly through Thursday. Uniformed officers will be on hand to help direct traffic.
