The Lilburn City Council voted unanimously to rezone 36 acres at 550 Indian Trail Lilburn Road from commercial business to industrial activity to allow for construction of a 350,000-square-foot office/distribution facility by Taylor & Mathis Properties. The site contains a former water treatment plant operated by the Gwinnett County Water and Sewerage Authority. The proposed new construction will have 1,300 feet of road frontage and is located about 3 miles from I-85. Similar facilities employ between 150-250 people.

Zoning conditions put in place with the approval address architectural design, adequate buffer along the property line, installation of street trees and sidewalks, and will make efforts to minimize traffic impact on Indian Trail. The former Jackson Creek Water Reclamation Facility has been vacant for many years and is owned by the Lilburn Downtown Development Authority.
