Charles Oddo is taking over the top spot on the Fayette County Board of Commissioners after being chosen as the new chairman Thursday night. On a 3-2 vote, Oddo – who was first elected to the District 4 post in 2012 – replaced Steve Brown, who has been chairman for the past two years and whose nomination to remain chairman was defeated.

Newly elected Commissioner Pota Coston was named vice chair. The commissioners unanimously approved a resolution to “affirm [its] core values and beliefs to our constituents and county staff” regarding its conduct and community responsibilities. County Administrator Steve Rapson was re-appointed as Fayette’s legislative coordinator.
