Starting the first week of February, taxpayers can receive free tax preparation in person by volunteers trained and certified by the Internal Revenue Service at North Fulton Community Charities, the Roswell-based nonprofit announced.

The Volunteer Income Tax (VITA) program is offered to assist low- to moderate-income households by North Fulton Charities, the IRS and United Way.

Taxes will be prepared by appointment through April 15 at the NFCC Education Center, 11255 Elkins Rd, Roswell. Information, and to schedule an appointment: https://bit.ly/2vxOd5z

“NFCC is proud to partner with the IRS and United Way to bring the VITA program for our community,” said Eden Purdy, the nonprofit’s director of programs. “This program provides families with qualified professionals to assist them in filing their tax returns, saving them money and often increasing the amount of their refund.”
