Norcross residents will choose from two for mayor

Norcross residents will vote Nov. 5 to either re-elect incumbent Mayor Craig Newton or challenger and current council member Chuck Paul as the city’s next mayor.

Qualifying candidates for Chuck Paul’s council seat are Matt Myers, Alex Hecht and Jeff Hopper. Council member Dan Watch is not seeking reelection. Candidates seeking to fill his seat are David McLeroy, Tyler Christian Hannel and Bruce Gaynor.

The Norcross city council is made up of a mayor and five members who are elected at-large and serve for two-year terms.

The election will be held 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at Norcross City Hall, 65 Lawrenceville St. Advanced voting will be held 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday Oct. 14 through Nov. 1 in the same location.
