The Norcross city council will conduct a special called meeting to discuss the new Gwinnett County Public Library branch at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the second floor conference room of City Hall, 65 Lawrenceville St.

The mayor and city council will discuss concept plans for the new building with Gwinnett County Commissioner Lynette Howard.

Norcross is in discussions with the county to relocate and expand the existing branch at 6025 Buford Highway to a new location closer to Lillian Webb Park and the downtown area. The new location with about 1,400 feet of frontage along Buford Highway will include the new library, a multi-level parking deck and some retail.
