Norcross residents and visitors will now have to leave their dogs at home if they go to a city park.

The Norcross City Council approved an ordinance Monday that would prohibit pets – with the exception of certain service animals -- from the interior of the city’s parks. Council members voted 3-2 on the ban.

The city has plans to erect signs alerting residents of the law and is still in the process of figuring out appropriate fines for the ordinance violations.
