Lutheran Services of Georgia hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception for its new Financial Opportunity Center in Clarkston, according to a press release. Developed in partnership with Local Initiative Support Corp., this FOC was created to serve low income residents of DeKalb County by providing financial coaching alongside job placement services and employment training.
“We are grateful for an opportunity to celebrate this new initiative with our friends, our partners and our community,” says John Moeller, CEO, Lutheran Services of Georgia. “By partnering with LISC to develop this incredible resource in the community, LSG is providing valuable tools and training to help empower participants to take control of their finances and careers and ultimately, transform their lives for the better.”
The nonprofit combines the resources of staff, financial donors, various governmental agencies, volunteers and Lutheran congregations and other faith communities in its efforts to bring quality programs and services in the areas of adoption, specialized foster care, family intervention services, disability services, refugee and immigration services and disaster response. LSG offers services in Albany, Athens, Atlanta, Columbus, Rome and Savannah.
