Pota Coston was sworn in Friday as the newest member of the Fayette County Board of Commissioners. She was elected in November to represent District 5. The ceremony was officiated by Chief Superior Court Judge Christopher Edwards and Superior Court Judge Fletcher Sams.

Coston is the first African-American woman ever to serve on the commission. During the ceremony she vowed to do her utmost.

“Working together, we will move Fayette County forward,” she said.
