A new Homewood Suites is in the works at the Exchange at Gwinnett, a new mixed-use development near the Mall of Georgia and Coolray Field.

The site of the future five-story hotel was purchased May 28 by Aysa Hospitality, an Atlanta-based developer, from Fuqua Development, which is managing the Exchange project. The hotel will sit on two acres of land on the northern edge of the development, adjacent to Interstate 85.

The 107-room hotel will be built near a planned Andretti Indoor Karting and Games and a Rooms to Go location within the development on Buford Drive. Also in plans for the Exchange at Gwinnett are 1,000 apartments, a new TopGolf location and several restaurants. There is no clear open date for the development, but it entered its second phase of construction in May 2019.

The Exchange at Gwinnett is expected to have a food hall, and guests will be able to move about the hall and outdoor areas of the development with alcoholic beverages in hand thanks to a county ordinance passed in November.

The hotel does not yet have an opening date. Aysa Hospitality was represented by New South Realty in the transaction.
