New Hope Road paving complete

Henry County officials opened New Hope Road to motorists with a Dec. 3 ribbon-cutting after paving of the mile-long dirt road was completed.

The $1.3 million project was funded by the county’s special purpose localoption sales tax. Its completion adds greater connectivity throughout the area, according to officials, specifically between Peeksville and Keys Ferry roads, easing congestion and allowing for more options to connect with major roadways.

“This is just one of many road projects to come in district one, and we are very pleased with the outcome of the New Hope Road project,” said county commissioner Bo Moss, in whose district the road sits.
