The Henry County Development Authority board voted unanimously Nov. 2 to select Leonard Sledge as its new executive director. He will succeed Charlie Moseley, who resigned in May to accept a position with the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

Sledge was named after a nationwide search which attracted 77 candidates, according to an HCDA spokesperson. He is currently the director of the Economic Development Department in Hampton, Va., where he has been for more than four years. He is a graduate of Morehouse College as well as Georgia Tech, and he expressed a desire to return to Georgia with his family as one of the main reasons for pursuing the Henry County job.
