Peachtree City is preparing to revise its ordinance regarding golf cart operation on its 100 miles of multi-use paths.

Lt. Brad Williams of the Peachtree City Police Department presented topics for consideration during the Nov. 2 meeting of the City Council, which will be formalized at a future council meeting. Included are new legal definitions of “golf carts” and “motorized carts,” and prohibitions on modifying either to go more than the established maximum speed of 20 mph. Greater enforcement of the speed limit, which would likely include warnings before citations, is meant to reduce the number of accidents on the paths.
