Construction of the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton in downtown Decatur is well underway and should open by November or December.

According to a spokesperson with Chattanooga-based Vision Hospitality, the Hampton will be six stories, 145 rooms, and 92,143 square feet on 1.2 acres. Other features include an indoor saltwater pool, fitness center, a 24-hour business facility and a 113-space parking garage.

This is Vision Hospitality’s eighth metro-area hotel, with a SpringHill Suites slated to open across from the Georgia Aquarium in May.

This is Decatur’s first new hotel since construction of the Holiday Inn (now the 180-room Marriott, next door to Hampton) in the late 1980s. The additional hotel allows the city to host large regional conferences that it couldn’t handle with only one major hotel.
