Cobb County State Court will offer residents the ability to file civil pleadings and other documents remotely and securely 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for new fees, beginning in April.

Users will pay a $5 fee to e-file and a $3 fee for e-service.

Part of each fee will go toward technology improvements in the Clerk of State Court’s Office and the system will be fully self-sustaining from the first day, said Cobb Communications Director Sheri Kell in a news release.

The clerk’s office is the point of entry for almost everyone involved in a civil matter with the processing of about 7,000 new civil filings, including more than 250,000 documents last year.

Clerk of State Court Angie Davis said, “We estimate this e-filing solution will reduce average filing time, eliminate costly trips to the courthouse and create a more efficient filing process for attorneys.”

Peach Court is used by more than 90 courts in Georgia, facilitating filings in domestic relations and general civil cases in superior and state courts.

The system is produced by Georgia-based GreenCourt Legal Technologies LLC in partnership with the Council of Superior Court Clerks of Georgia.
