South City Partners is giving a public presentation of its proposed Avondale Estates development during a city commission work session, 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Avondale Estates City Hall, 21 North Avondale Plaza.

Earlier this month South City announced it had purchased the 3.17-acre parcel on the north side of East College Avenue between Sams Crossing and Hillyer Street, an area annexed into the city several years ago.

Initial plans call for 10,000 square feet of ground floor retail/restaurant and approximately 175 residential units over four stories. Other proposed amenities include one acre of open space including a gateway park, a rear parking deck, on-street parking, sidewalks and street trees.
