Sunday gives metro Atlantans a great opportunity to trick those they live with into getting a puppy.

If you’re slick, you could play it like this: “Oh, I’m just going to pick something up at the mall.”

But what those close to you may not know is that Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is having an adoption drive at The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta in Woodstock. That means you can drive home with some of the more than 25 puppies or adult dogs they'll have there.

“We are very passionate about helping our shoppers find new, impactful ways to turn their houses into homes, so hosting an event that will benefit so many animals and families in our community was a no-brainer,” Charlie Loughran, general manager of the mall, said in a press release.

The "Adopt While You Shop" event will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the mall, 915 Ridgewalk Parkway.

Adoption rates are $285 per pet and include all vaccines, spay or neuter services and a microchip.

You can catch a discount if you’re a senior, military personnel, a repeat adopter or if you’re adopting a senior pet.

“Adopted animals are known for rewarding their owners with unparalleled love and loyalty. It’s almost as if they know they have been given a second chance,” said Valerie Addington, co-founder of Angels Among Us.

The non-profit pet education group is based in Alpharetta.
