A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night when his bike left a north Cobb County roadway and hit a bridge retaining wall and plunged into a creek.

The crash happened about 10:30 p.m.Tuesday on Cheatham Road between Deer Valley Drive and Old Stilesboro Road, according to Cobb police Sgt. Dana Pierce.

Pierce identified the motorcyclist as Scott Finnell, 44, of Acworth.
