A mother and her four children, including a newborn, were hit by a car while walking home in Union City, police said in a news release.

They were walking on Shannon Parkway when they were struck by a black sedan, police said.

The mom was taken to a local hospital with leg injuries. The children, ranging in age from 4 days old to 3 years old, were taken to Egleston Hospital with more serious injuries.

Police said the driver and car were located near the incident.

The victims’ names were not released. The investigation is ongoing.
