A mother carrying her 2-year-old child was ticketed by police after stepping in front of a vehicle while trying to catch a bus on Peachtree and Alabama streets Friday morning, police said.

The unidentified woman was cited for pedestrian in a roadway. She and her child were bumped by an oncoming Dodge Stratus but neither were seriously hurt, said Atlanta police Sgt. Charles Mack. They were transported to Atlanta Medical Center as a precaution.

“It was a very dangerous situation and it could’ve been more serious than it was, ” Mack said.
