It should be a mostly dry, hot weekend in metro Atlanta, where there’s no shortage of events. But depending on where you’re heading, you may need to allow time to get past roadwork.

Plan ahead: Striping work on the east side of I-285 could cause delays while traveling northbound in DeKalb County, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. On the west side I-285, concrete repairs will take place between Camp Creek Parkway and South Cobb Drive.

The Express Lane Project will continue through the Cobb County Cloverleaf, and along I-575 through Kennesaw and Woodstock.

Also, resurfacing is planned on Ga. 315 in Gwinnett County between Sugarloaf Parkway and Duluth Highway.

The forecast: Expect partly cloudy skies for the weekend, when there's about a 20 percent chance of rain both Saturday and Sunday, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton. Saturday night, the J. Cole Forest Hills Drive Tour will be at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood, and at Chastain Park Ampitheatre is the Sunset Jazz concert Saturday night followed by comedian Jim Gaffigan on Sunday.

The Braves host the Arizona Diamondbacks for a weekend series at Turner Field. Saturday’s game is at 7 p.m. before Sunday’s 1 p.m. start.
