Scattered showers Saturday over much of North Georgia will give way to blue skies and cooler temperatures Sunday and into next week.

The change in weather is due to a cold front moving through the area, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz.

“Big change is coming with this cold front,” Nitz said. “It’s going to bring in cooler and much drier air.”

He said parts of metro Atlanta and north Georgia will start Sunday in the upper 50s. “Then as we head into the afternoon, sunny, a cool breeze and temperatures just barely up into the low 80s,” Nitz said.

The trend will continue at least through Wednesday, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s.
