More lane closures to take hold near I-285/400

Trees are being removed from the side of Ga. 400 as part of a four-year, $800 million reconstruction of the interchange at the top of the Perimeter in the Dunwoody-Sandy Springs area. More lane closures have been announced for the area.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has listed more overnight lane closures on Ga. 400 associated with the Transform 285/400 project.

One left lane will close northbound between Johnson Ferry Road and Hammond Drive Sunday through Tuesday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Also, alternating left lanes will close on Ga. 400 northbound and southbound between the Glenridge Connector and Hammond Drive Monday through March 17 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Contractors will close the lanes, weather permitting, for site investigations related to the four-year, $800 million reconstruction of the interchange at the top of the Perimeter in the Dunwoody-Sandy Springs area.

The reconstruction includes new lanes, a diverging diamond interchange, flyover ramps and an extension of the PATH 400 trail system. It affects 4.3 miles of I-285 from west of Roswell Road to east of Ashford Dunwoody Road, and 6.2 miles of Ga. 400 from the Glenridge Connector to Spalding Drive.

The project is also the reason all those trees are being removed from the side of Ga. 400.
