The Powder Springs City Council agreed last week to pay $50,354 more in costs for the Historic Bodiford House that is expected to open this summer.
Constructed in 1923, this house at 4355 Marietta St. was bought by the city for $175,000 in June to replace the Seven Springs Museum.
Now the museum is on Brownsville Road at the railroad tracks.
Nearly $800,000 for the renovation work of the 3,600-square-foot house has been approved by the council for payment to The Macallan Group.
Additional costs are $28,000 to complete paving and resurfacing of the existing drive and parking area.
Also, $15,000 will be paid to build a garage for the storage of museum artifacts.
Carlson Construction Services will receive $7,354 to install fiber optic equipment at this house and at 4181 Atlanta St. next to the library.
