A fire that destroyed a Monroe fast food restaurant early Sunday apparently started accidentally, authorities said.
Firefighters responding to the 1:20 a.m. blaze at the Captain D’s on Spring Street in Monroe could see smoke and flames from a half-mile away, according to Monroe Fire Department spokesman Bill Owens.
Owens said late Sunday morning that investigators had determined that an electrical fire started in the office area of the restaurant, and spread to the attic and roof.
No injuries were reported.
