A 1-year-old boy who was abducted early Saturday from his south Georgia home has been found alive and unharmed, and his mother has been taken into custody, authorities said.

The two were found in Dalton in north Georgia shortly before noon Sunday, and an Amber alert posted along metro Atlanta interstates was canceled.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office reported on its Facebook page that the mother, identified as Miranda L. Hamby, was under arrest and that her son, Rylan, was recovered safe and unharmed.

According to the sheriff’s office, Rylan was wearing only a diaper when he was taken early Saturday as others in his home slept.

His mother lost custody of the child due to drug use and violent behavior and was immediately identified as a likely suspect, the sheriff’s office reported.

Hamby faces charges of kidnapping, interference with custody and burglary, according to the sheriff’s office.
