The DeKalb County man reported missing since Saturday was found Thursday night at a Motel 6, police said.

Negero Debero, 33, was found around 6:30 p.m. in Gwinnett County, Officer Jason Gagnon with DeKalb police said. Someone recognized Debero from media reports on his disappearance and called police, Gagnon said.

Gwinnett County police officers went the hotel for a welfare check and found Debero, Gagnon said. Debero was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, he said.

Debero's black Lincoln Town Car was found wrecked along I-85 Saturday, his family said. Debero's wife, Sara Kassahun, told the AJC earlier this week that he had not been seen Saturday morning, when a friend dropped Debero off at his car.

Kassahun filed a missing person report with DeKalb police, and other family members and friends had organized wide-scale searches for Debero during the week.

A family friend who contacted the AJC on Thursday night declined to discuss Debero's whereabouts.
