Milton residents are invited to participate in a work day on Saturday, March 16, to clear trails at Birmingham Park. CITY OF MILTON

The city of Milton Equestrian Committee invites residents to a work day at Birmingham Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16.

Volunteers will clear fallen brush and trees from trails to ensure safety for hikers and horseback riders, according to a city announcement. To register to volunteer: https://bit.ly/2J9iVsa

Participants also are asked to bring, if possible, safety hats, gloves, safety vests and garbage bags for trash found on the trail. Needed tools include hedge trimmers, power saws for cutting fallen trees, and pole saws for cutting limbs. If necessary, the rain date is Saturday, March 23.

Birmingham Park, 750 Hickory Flat Road, is an undeveloped 200-acre site open for passive use such as hiking, dog walking and horseback riding, according to a Milton Parks and Recreation website.
