Milton will attending to some of its tornado sirens after a routine maintenance check found three in need of repairs – including one that wouldn’t sound at all.

"The lone siren not functioning sits near the roundabout at Highway 372 and Providence Road," the city said in a Facebook posting. "Two others with ball bearing issues still emit sounds but need to be fixed. All those repairs should take about a week to complete. Milton's other eight tornado sirens work perfectly fine."

The city also encouraged residents to download commercial weather apps for notifications in an emergency, or sign up for the city's Code Red system that pushes out text alerts for tornadoes to all cell phones in an affected area: https://bit.ly/3e7n1Ml
