The Milton Fire-Rescue Department has introduced a Community Paramedicine Program that it says responds to those with chronic health conditions, improves the health of residents and promotes public safety and education.

Said to be the first program of its kind in North Fulton County, its components include medication, chronic disease, and nutrition and dietary education in addition to medical assessments, wellness checks and home safety inspections for fire and other health hazards.

“The great thing about this program is that it’s open to Milton residents of all ages, young and old, who are dealing with chronic health conditions and other special needs,” said Milton Fire Chief Robert Edgar.

Area medical providers and family members can refer Milton patients to the program; patients also can self-refer. For information, contact Capt. Don Patterson of Milton Fire-Rescue at fdinfo@cityofmiltonga.us or 678-242-2541.
