The Milton City Council took action on two parks-related matters at its meeting Monday night.
Council members agreed to acquire 4.70 acres of real estate from L. Gene Hyde for $175,000. The land is adjacent to the 22-acre Bell Memorial Park property at 15245 Bell Park Road. While the main park is under development as an active facility with recreational fields and other amenities, city officials said the new acreage would be used passively as green space.
The council also reaffirmed a resolution to acquire Providence Park from Fulton County for $4,200. The approximately 40-acre park at 13440 Providence Park Drive is now considered in good shape after years of environmental cleanup work by Fulton.
