McDonald's in Cumming re-evaluated after failed health inspection

UPDATE: This location was re-inspected Oct. 27 and scored a 95/A.
ORIGINAL STORY (published Oct. 25): A McDonald's in Cumming failed its recent food inspection after health officials found meat patties not cooked thoroughly and that employees left drinking cups in wrong areas of the kitchen.
The fast food spot at 4890 Post Road scored a 64/U on its Oct. 21 food inspection done by the Forsyth County Health Department.
During the inspection, health officials reported they saw employees who prepared food without having their hair correctly restrained in nets. Throughout the kitchen, inspectors found employee drink cups in sinks and on top of prep tables next to food, according to the report.
Soda drink nozzles in the eating area also had a “mildew-like” substance. These citations led to inspectors recommending changes including manager retraining.
A manager who answered the phone Tuesday declined to give her name or comment on the recent inspection. Restaurants that have low scores are generally re-inspected within 10 days.
