Two people have been sentenced to prison for defrauding car dealerships and loan financing outfits by using fake identities and fraudulent paperwork to purchase luxury cars, federal prosecutors said Thursday.

Nadir Anwar Jabbar, of Ellenwood, and his former live-in girlfriend Scarlett Capri King, listed as being from Stone Mountain, were both convicted and must pay back thousands of dollars, according to a news release.

In total, 14 cars were purchased using stolen identities, with a total loss of approximately $1.1 million dollars, prosecutors said.

Jabbar, 44, was a coach for a middle school football team that was a feeder program for Roswell High School, according to the indictment.

He headed up the scheme and 40-year-old King, as a notary public, signed off on the fraudulent loan applications, the indictment said.

“Through no fault of their own, five unknowing victims (sic) personal lives have been disrupted for years as they try to recover their identities and financial security,” said David J. LeValley, who leads the FBI in Atlanta.
