The Duluth City Council reviewed a request Dec. 22 by the Senior Core of Retired Executives to use the city’s Festival Center office space for their services. SCORE, an arm of the Small Business Adminsitration, provides free mentoring for startup and new business entrepreneurs by a group of retired seasoned business executives.

For the past few years SCORE has offered free mentoring services out of the WorkSpot at 3150 Main Street. Since the WorkSpot is closing, SCORE is in need of office space on a limited weekly basis and would like to remain in a central, downtown location. Since Duluth’s Festival Center space is potentially leasable to a paying renter, council authorized staff to look for a more ideal location for the group.
