Peachtree City Mayor Vanessa Fleisch delivered the annual State of the City address at the city council’s first regular meeting of 2020 on Jan. 16.

After swearing in Post 1 council member Phil Prebor as this year’s mayor pro-tem, Fleisch began her seventh year as mayor by listing the milestones of the city’s 60th year. Calling it “one of the best years the city had,” Fleisch said much of the work focused on refurbishing the city’s infrastructure and its public image. Recreation amenities such as a splash pad, skate park and sports fields were added, along with more urgent projects that included replacing 20,000 linear feet of deteriorating stormwater pipe. The city tried to catch up on its paving backlog by resurfacing 13 miles of roads and 11 miles of multi-use paths.

Fleisch said office, industrial and retail occupancies all remain above 91 percent, and the average Peachtree City home price for 2019 was $398,802.
