The board of directors for a self-taxing improvement district on Franklin Road in Marietta has approved Strategic City Partners to help with marketing and planning. The Gateway Marietta Community Improvement District board of directors has hired the Marietta firm in anticipation of tax revenues starting in October. So far, the district includes 33 commercial property owners. The city council approved the CID in May to dovetail with the $68 million in redevelopment the city plans largely in the Franklin Road corridor.
