Marietta science teachers selected to present at state summit

Four award-winning Marietta City Schools science teachers were invited to present at State Superintendent John Barge’s 2011 Race to the Top Summit this week.

Thomas Monti of Marietta Middle, Julie Schunck of Marietta Sixth Grade Academy and Celis Hartley-Lewis and Stephanie Howard of Marietta High were invited to the University of Georgia Conference Center in Athens. They previously won $4,000 performance incentive awards for classroom treatments intended to raise student achievement on external assessments.
